Weekend Blog Love

I have been feeling under the weather lately and in some pain due to a day-surgery. With taking all these pain-killers I haven't been able to go outside and enjoy the sunshine but aside from watching the Olympics, I also found an amazing blog that I have been immersed in reading. It's dear to my heart and the top right photo speaks volumes - I remember walking at that market as a child and nothing has changed about it.

My new favourite blog - Lana McCoy's Live Life Like A Best Seller livelifelikeabestseller.blogspot.ca

A New Day

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”

I heart Ward's Island - Part Deux

Back again but this time for dinner. We had burgers, nachos, icea tea and a watermelon slushie

Must be my Toronto Island IONA

I heart Ward's Island - Part 1

Taking the afternoon ferry to Toronto Island from downtown is one of my favourite things to do in Toronto on a summer day right after work. I did not discover the true beauty and enchantment of Ward's Island until this summer despite having gone bike riding there a few summers ago. There is always something new to explore.

Our lucky island cat who lives in the blue and yellow cottage is always spotted lounging outside

The 262 residential homes on the island are governed by the Toronto Islands Residential Community Stewardship Act and homes can only be acquired via the lottery system.

The island shrines are interesting and I bet they each have a story to tell

Brunch at the Island Cafe

I had the perfect Sunday brunch on Ward's Island at the Island Cafe. I had Jena's breakfast tart which consists of homemade pastry with seasonal vegetables - cheese and egg quiche served with green salad and fresh fruit. I also had a Shirley Temple - lemonade, grenadine, watermelon and sparkling water.

Esther, the little spy, wanted to join us but was tied by the flowers because dogs are not allowed on the patio
More Island adventures to come - I can't wait to go back to the Island Cafe for Wednesday Pizza Night & Friday dinner and a concert.

One Line A Day

The One Line a Day Memory Book contains just enough space to record a thought, quote or special event each day over the course of five years. I am still debating on this project in light of this blog and my newly found obsession with Twitter. With all this available media there is still something more meaningful about having it in a journal.

Apartment No. 4

I am looking forward to decorating my new condo in the upcoming few months. This time, unlike in previous homes, I will be taking my time picking out items piece by piece. I don't want to rush it. I do not have a particular style but tend to gravitate towards modern / contemporary. A new bed is a must! A new entertainment unit as well. Here are some of the items that I have my eye on to purchase & inspirations I have collected via Tumblr and Pinterest (if any of these images belong to you and you don't want me to use them or to link back please advise).
